Will of Rev. Joseph HOWARD 

Dated 19 Jan 1876

In the name of God Amen. I, Joseph HOWARD, of the town of Tunbridge the county of DeWitt and state of Illinois. Of the age of seventy eight years and being of sound mind and memory. Do make publish and declare

this my last will and testament in manner following, that is to say:

First - I have given to my sons Benjamin and Peter their shares of my estate many years ago.

Second- After all legal claims and debts are paid I give and bequeath all my real and personal property to the rest of my children. Namely Rachel Rucker, William R. Howard, Mary Jane Hough, Reuben L. Howard,

Frances M. Howard, Anna E. Brahm.

As the law directs the amount already paid to my son William to be deducted from his share.

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal, this nineteenth day of January, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy six.

Salmon WALLER - December 1868 

STATE OF ILLINOIS

DeWitt County In the County Court of said County

In Probate, December Term A. D. 1868

Personally appeared in open Court Joseph R. Tatman and John A. Page subscribing witnesses to the annexed instrument of writing, purporting to be the Last Will and Testament of Salmon Waller late of said County, deceased, who, being duly sworn according to law, do depose and say, each for himself, that they were present and saw the said Salmon Waller sign said will in their presence, and that they believe that the said testator was of sound Mind and Memory, of lawful age, and under no constraint when he signed said will.

In the name of God, Amen. I Salmon Waller of the Town of Santa Anna in the County of DeWitt and State of Illinois of the age of Eighty five years and being of sound mind and memory do make publish and declare this my last will and testament in manner following that is to say.

First, I give and bequeath to my wife Amelia Waller one thousand Dollars to be accepted and Received by her in lieu of Dower. To Almira Hudgell my grand Daughter the Sum of Three hundred Dollars. To my Son William B. Waller the Sum of three hundred Dollars, and to my Son Emery L. Waller the Sum of two thousand Dollars. Which Said Several legacies or sums of money I direct and order to be paid to be paid to the Said Respect legates, within Two years after my decease.

Second I give and bequeath all the rest Residue and Remainder of my personal Estate goods and chattles of what nature in kind soever to my wife Amanda Waller And lastly I hearby appoint Emery C. Waller my Son my Sole Executor of this my last will and testament. To take possession of all my Real Estate and after giving Notice in the County papers and posting up Notices of the day of Sale at least twenty days in the East door of the Cort house in Clinton DeWitt County Ill to Said Real Estate at public sale to the highest bidder and to pay said Several Sums to bequeath__ to the several persons therein Named according to the true intent and meaning of this my last will and testament.

In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this Eighth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and Sixty Eight.
