POWELL-MILBURN.
At the home of Miss Hattie MILBURN in Lincoln, at 8:30 o'clock Wednesday evening, January 10, occurred the marriage of Miss Rose E. MILBURN, of Waynesville, to Mr. John E. POWELL, of near Armington. The wedding cermony was performed by Rev. Thomas H. Tull, of the M.E. church.
The bride is very popular among her many friends. She is a member of the Needlecraft Club and the Woman’s Club of Waynesville, and also of the C. W. B. M., of the Atlanta Christian church. She has a splendid alto voice which will be greatly missed, as she was always ready and willing to help in any of the churches or wherever her voice was needed. Mr. Powell is a very prominent man, being one of the wealthiest farmers and stock raisers of Delavan Prairie.
The couple left Lincoln Wednesday night for Falfurrias, Texas, where Mr. Powell has a beautiful winter home and also a large tract of land near that place. They expect to go to the gulf coast and visit many places of interest in the southern states.
They will be at home to their friends after March 1st on Mr. Powell’s farm, four and one-half miles west of Armington.

LAFFERTY GOLDEN WEDDING.
At their beautiful country home three and one half miles north of DeWitt Wednesday, Mr. and Mrs. Isaac LAFFERTY celebrated their golden wedding anniversary with an elaborate three course dinner served by the four daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Lafferty, with Mrs. Mae Tuggle of Clinton as Cateress. The rooms of the home were prettily decorated in yellow and white.
Mr. and Mrs. Lafferty have five living children, as follows: Ira Lafferty, Mrs. Ada Rudisal, of Birkbeck ; Mrs. Arcada Walden, Mrs. Iva Fuller, and Miss Alta, at home. They have nineteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Congratulations were received from Mr. and Mrs. C. S. Lafferty of St. Petersburg, FLA.; M. R. North, of Long Beach, CA.; Mrs. Inman of Pana, IL.; Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Brown of Hastings, NEB.; Louisa McConkey, of Mansfield; Mrs. Martin Murry of Hastings, NEB., was a guest at the home last Wednesday.
Mr. and Mrs. Lafferty were both born and raised in this county. Mr. Lafferty being 72 years of age and his wife 68. They have lived at their present home the 50 years of their married life.
The beautiful gifts received were two Masonic pins, one Eastern Star pin, two gold headed umbrellas, one gold headed cane, salad set, hand painted china, a cameo broach and stick pins, silverware with gold bowls, and a five dollar gold piece. There was about sixty relatives and friends present, and the day was a most happy one.

MISS WILLIAMS OF CLINTON WEDS.
Clinton, Sept. 6.—John GRIFFIN of Peoria, and Miss Genevieve WILLIAMS, oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Williams, were married Saturday morning at the Methodist parsonage. The bride is a graduate of the 1917 class of the Clinton high school and was a teacher in DeWitt and Macon county schools since her graduation. Mr. Griffin was in service and was one of the first contingents of American soldiers to reach France, where he was wounded three times and gassed twice. He is employed in Peoria, in which place they will make their home, after a short visit in Springfield.

CLINTON COUPLE MARRIED TUESDAY
Mrs. Hilbrant and Louis Lynn Take Vows
Clinton, Nov. 16.— Mrs. Faye HILBRANT and Louis LYNN, both of Clinton, were united in marriage in the parsonage of the First Methodist church at 3 o'clock Tuesday afternoon by Rev. F. B. Madden. The couple was attended by Mrs. Harry Simmons, a sister of the bride, and Harriett, the small daughter of Mrs. Hilbrant. The couple will take up their home in the Taylor flats on East Main street.
Mrs. Lynn is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Lillard, and was born and reared in Clinton. She has made her home with her parents since the death of her first husband about three years ago. The groom is an ex-service man and is employed as switchman by the Illinois Central.
Note: Her name was actually Faye HILDEBRANT, nee Faye LILLARD. Mrs. Harry SIMMONS' maiden name was Marie LILLARD. Faye (Lillard) Hildebrant-Lynn-O'Brien was my great-aunt.

GLADYS HARROLD TO BECOME BRIDE OF J. C. PETERSON.
Wedding Ceremony to Take Place in Decatur Oct. 10.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank E. HARROLD, 746 West Wood street, announce the engagement of their daughter, Gladys, to John C. PETERSON of Decatur, the wedding to take place in Decatur Saturday, Oct. 10.
Miss Harrold is one of the well-known young women of Decatur. She is a graduate of the Decatur high school and was graduated from the James Millikin university, class of 1924. She is a member of the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority at the university.
Mr. Peterson was graduated from the Beloit, Wis., college where he is a member of the Beta Theta Phi fraternity. He formerly lived in Princeton, Ill., and has been in Decatur for the last two years. Mr. Peterson is with the Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance company, with headquarters in Decatur.
The couple will reside in Decatur.

GLADYS HARROLD BECOMES BRIDE OF J. D. PETERSON.
The marriage of Miss Gladys HARROLD and John D. PETERSON took place Saturday noon, Oct. 10, in the home of the bride's mother, Mrs. Frank E. Harrold, 746 West Wood street, Rev. Fred W. Ingvoldstad of the First Methodist church performing the ceremony. The service was read in the presence of the immediate families and a few relatives. There were no attendants.
Following the ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Peterson left on a short motor trip and upon their return will be in the Harrold home until the new Peterson home, 256 North Woodlawn avenue, is completed.
Mrs. Peterson is a graduate of the James Millikin university, class of 1924, and is a member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority.
Mr. Peterson is a graduate of Beloit college, Wisconsin, and is a member of Beta Theta Phi fraternity. He is with the Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance company and has made Decatur his home for the last two years.
Out of town relatives in attendance at the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Peterson of Princeton, Ill., parents of the bridegroom; Joseph Peterson, a student at the University of Illinois and brother of the bridegroom; Mrs. Jess Hammer of Farmer City, aunt of the bride, and Miss Edith Harrold of Clinton, cousin of the bride.

MIDLAND CITY COUPLE MARRIED FIFTY YEARS.
On last Sunday, May 16, there assembled at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred TROWBRIDGE in Midland City, a large number of relatives and friends to help them celebrate their fiftieth wedding anniversary. It was also Mr. Trowbridge's seventy-first birthday. At noon a sumptuous dinner was served after which Rev. William Icenogle, of Wapella, made a short address, paying a tribute to the occasion. Several beautiful and practical presents were received by Mr. and Mrs. Trowbridge. Late in the afternoon, the guests departed, wishing their hosts many more happy anniversaries.
Those present were Mrs. Alice Rucker, of Coon Rapids, IA. Mrs. Bert Walker, and daughters of Chicago. Mrs. Mattie Watson; Mr. and Mrs. John Trowbridge; Mr. and Mrs. Lee Trowbridge; Miss Mildred Cantrell, and Mrs. Spillman all of Kenney. Rev. and Mrs. Icenogle and family; C. E. Trowbridge and family, of Wapella. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Hoffman and Robert Hoffman, of Waynesville; Mrs. Laura Parker, Harold Phelps, Mr. and Mrs. Marion Coppenbarger of Clinton; Mr. and Mrs. George Coppenbarger, Mrs. James Coppenbarger and two daughters and David McClimans, of Hallville; Mr. and Mrs. Homer Trowbridge and daughter, of Decatur.
