(1) Affidavit – 14 Apr 1880 – McLean Co, Illinois
Dr. T.D. Fisher, Post Office LeRoy, Illinois, states that on or about 20 July 1864 he was applied to by Z. C. Weedman for treatment for rheumatism with which disease the said Weedman was badly afflicted.  He continued to treat the said Weedman for the disease until about the 10th of September 1864 when the said Weedman returned to his Regiment in the Army.  He is a regular practicing physician and has been for the last 25 years.

(2) Affidavit – 1 May 1880 – DeWitt Co, Illinois
Andrew S. Norris, Post Office Farmer City, states he is a regular practicing physician and has been for the last 36 years.  He has personally and professionally known the said Z. C. Weedman for the last 25 years and states that the said Weedman was, and from the time of his enlistment in the Army of the United States, a man of sound physical health and free from rheumatism.  The affiant further says that his means of knowledge of the said condition of the said Weedman was that he, the affiant, was the family physician of the family in which said Weedman resided.

(3) Affidavit – 23 May 1880 – DeWitt Co, Illinois
J. W. Woodward, Post Office Farmer City, states he is a regular practicing physician and has been for the last 35 years.  The said Z. C. Weedman returned home from the Army with chronic rheumatism and this affiant treated the said Weedman for rheumatism from the time he returned from the Army until about the year 1870.  The affiant says that the disease was confined to the lower limbs and that the said Weedman was so disabled by reason of said disease as to be unable to follow his usual avocation of farming.

(4) Affidavit – 21 September 1880 – LaSalle Co, Illinois
Joseph Rosenkaupt, Post Office LaSalle, LaSalle Co, Illinois, states he was the Hospital Steward of the 107th Regiment Illinois Volunteer Infantry and that he was well acquainted with Capt. Z. C. Weedman of the said Regiment during such service.  About 15 May 1864 the said Weedman had a very severe attack of rheumatism, that he received treatment from Dr. John Wright, the surgeon of the said Regiment for such disease as this affiant knows from the fact that Dr. Wright gave said the Weedman prescriptions for this affiant to fill.  The said Weedman remained with his Regiment until sometime in June of that year when he was placed in the field hospital where he remained a short time.  During the time he was in the field hospital this affiant saw him, the said Weedman, several times and that during that time he continued to receive treatment for such disease.

(5) Letter (hand-written) – 12 Feb 1881 – Farmer City, Illinois
To Hon. D. C. S_____, Washington D. C.
"My Dear Sir: Some time since I applied for a pension and have months ago forwarded all the evidence demanded by the pension department and now know of no reason why I should not be allowed.
I yesterday wrote Mr. Senator Davis to give it his personal attention.  Will you be kind enough to see Mr. Davis and use what personal influence you can with the pension department and try and have it granted before you leave Washington.
I think if you will call on Mr. B_____ the Commissioner and insist upon it that it will either be granted or you will find out why it is not.
By so doing you will greatly oblige.

(6) Widow's Claim For Pension – 11 Jan 1888 – DeWitt Co, Illinois
Rebecca D. Weedman, Resident of Farmer City, DeWitt Co, Illinois, makes the following declaration in order to obtain the Pension provided by the Act of Congress approved 14 Jul 1862.  She is the widow of Zadok C. Weedman who was a Capt. in Company G, Commanded by himself, in the 107th Illinois Volunteer Infantry in the "War of 1861." Her maiden name was Rebecca D. Wolf.  She was married to the said Zadok C. Weedman on 25 Feb 1864 in DeWitt Co, Illinois by B_____.  They had only one son, age 11 years old on 14 Jul 1887.
The said Zadok C. Weedman died at Farmer City, Illinois, on 11Dec 1887 of disease contracted in the service of the United States.  Rheumatism.  He was a pensioner at the time of his death.  She has remained a widow ever since the death of said Weedman.

(7) Certificate of Record of Marriage – 11 Jan 1888 – DeWitt Co, Illinois
"Zaddoc" Weedman was married to Miss Rebecca D. "Wolfe" in said County on 24 Feb 1864 by Benjamin Bartho, Minister of the Gospel.

(8) Affidavit – 28 Feb 1888 – DeWitt Co, Illinois
Rebecca D. Weedman, states she is the widow of "Zadock" C. Weedman, deceased, who died 11 Dec 1887, and that neither he nor herself were previously married to anyone prior to the marriage of herself and the said Weedman, which was celebrated "the twenty-fifth day of February 1864" near Farmer city, DeWitt Co, Illinois.

(9) Drop Notice – 5 May 1888 – Chicago, Illinois
Zadok C.Weedman, who was on a pensioner on the rolls of this agency under Certificate No. 186111 and who was last paid at $20 to 11 Dec 1887, has been dropped because of death.

(10) General Affidavit – Pension Office stamp 24 Nov 1890 – DeWitt Co, Illinois
In the matter of the pension claim of Lawrence W. Weedman, minor son of Zaddock C. & Rebecca D. Weedman, personally appeared Rebecca D. Weedman, aged 54, resident of Farmer City, DeWitt Co, Illinois, who states that she is the mother of Lawrence W. Weedman and that he was born 14 July 1876.  Her husband, Zaddock C. Weedman, father of Lawrence W. Weedman, died on 11 Dec 1887.

Mary J. Weedman, aged 60, resident of Farmer City, DeWitt Co, Illinois, declares that Lawrence W. Weedman was born near Farmer City, DeWitt Co, Illinois, on 14 July 1876.  The affiant knows this to be the date of birth by having been present when he was born.  He is the only child now living who was under sixteen years of age at the death of his father, Zaddock C. Weedman.

D. Lowry, aged 66, and J. E. Jackson, aged 39, residents of Farmer City, DeWitt Co, Illinois, declare that they are well acquainted with Lawrence W. Weedman, son of Zaddock C. & Rebecca D. Weedman and know that he is the only child living who was under sixteen years of age at his father’s death.  They further state that they were well acquainted with Zaddock C. Weedman for a great many years prior to his death and are and have been acquainted with Rebecca D. Weedman also for a great many years having lived in the same neighborhood.

C. L. Hatfield, M.D. and L. S. Weedman, residents of Farmer City, DeWitt Co, Illinois, declare that they were present when Zadock C. Weedman died in the evening of the eleventh day of December A.D. 1887.
