The Merriman Family
Captain Harvey H. Merriman ran the hotel known as the Merriman House from 1878 until his death in 1901. After his death, his wife moved in with their children, so I'm not sure who ran the hotel after that time. Dorothy Hieronymus is the little girl in the front row with an X on her dress. She was born in 1910 and appears to be about three or four years old, which dates the picture around 1913 or 1914. On the back of the picture is written, "To Dorothy from Grandma Merriman." Harvey and his wife were both deceased when this picture was taken, so who was Grandma Merriman? If you recognize the location or recognize anyone in the picture, please contact Marcia.
