Barnes Cemetery

“Barnes Cemetery is a very old burial site with approximately seventy-five graves and is located about two miles east of Route 48 in a wooded area near Swigart Camp.”  From the book Clinton 1835-1985, DeWitt County 1839-1985, Illinois.

In the obituary of William S. Barnes, it stated that he would be buried in Barnes Cemetery on the old homestead.  In the obituary of his son, Charles Barnes, the old homestead is described as being seven miles southwest of Farmer City.
